A clear separation of forklifts and pedestrians reduces the chance of collisions.

Floor marking
Every company must, just as on public roads, establish traffic rules and inform its employees about them.
A simple measure is to mark the walkways with floor marking.
A yellow pedestrian crossing indicates where the walkway and the driving lane cross. Some warehouses go a step further and also indicate how the driving lanes run.
The distinction between fast and slow traffic is then made clear by using a different colour.
Placing barriers
Floor marking is a fine measure. However, it is no guarantee that pedestrians and forklifts strictly stay on their own path.
That is why it is advisable to place barriers such as a fence or collision protection.
Physically separating the traffic flow
Even better is to physically separate both traffic flows from each other.
This by adapting the layout of the warehouse in such a way that pedestrians and forklifts cannot meet each other.
