WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?
Self-propelled mobile work equipment may only be operated by workers who have received adequate training in the safe operation of this equipment (RD 04/05/1999, art. 14.1).
Any workstation where work equipment is used, where motor vehicles, cranes, overhead cranes or lifting devices of any kind are operated, is regarded as a safety function (RD 28/05/2003, art. 2).
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a forklift and a reach truck?
A forklift carries the load in front of it; a reach truck has an extendable mast for high stacking in narrow aisles. This combi covers both.
Do I need experience?
No, every driver is welcome. Without experience the combi training lasts 5 days. Experienced drivers can also opt for the 1-hour competence test.
Which certificates do I receive?
You receive the official FORKLIFT and REACH TRUCK certificates, each valid for 5 years and registered in the Normec Praxis certificate portal.
