Prevention advisor legislation

The training requirements for prevention advisors: basic knowledge (level III), additional training (level I/II) and annual refresher training.

What does the law say?

In summary

  1. All prevention advisors must at least have sufficient basic knowledge.
  2. For this they follow the basic course (level III) of at least 40 hours at an accredited institution.
  3. Some internal prevention advisors are required to follow the additional training (level I or II).
  4. All external prevention advisors are required to follow the additional training (level I): a multidisciplinary basic module of 120 hours plus a specialisation module.
  5. Mandatory annual refresher training for all prevention advisors (3 days recommended).
