FIRE IN THE WORKPLACE
A fire can occur anywhere, including in the workplace. To react appropriately to a fire, your first reaction is decisive for a good outcome. After all, you have neither the time nor the luxury of waiting for the intervention of the fire brigade or the company fire service.
It is indeed necessary that, as an employee present, you know what to do in the event of a fire in the workplace. Extinguishing the fire completely may not always be possible, but it is desirable that you can act both decisively and accurately to prevent worse. This is why every employee must have a basic knowledge of fire fighting!
FIRE FIGHTING COURSE
The fire fighting course is by no means a theoretical course. This training consists largely of pure practice. No words, but deeds, that is the motto here! In this course, you take action yourself and learn the principles of extinguishing a fire!
As organisers of the course, we give every participant the chance to extinguish an incipient fire. You therefore learn to work with a fire extinguisher, a fire blanket and the powder extinguisher.
FIRE SAFETY CERTIFICATE
In addition to the specific training for the fire fighting service, the employer must also provide a fire fighting and fire safety course for every other employee. It is also important to pay attention to a minimal knowledge of the theoretical aspects of fire safety. This course consists of approximately 30% theory and 70% practice.
All practical skills are practised under the watchful eye of a professional instructor. In this way, you run no risk while taking the course. Of course, everyone who successfully completes this course receives an official fire safety certificate.
That is why every employee must have a basic knowledge of fire fighting!

THEORY
- Safety and responsibilities
- Fire triangle (fuel, oxygen and ignition source)
- Origin and development of a fire source
- Types of fires and fire classes
PRACTICE
- Types of small extinguishing equipment applied to real fire sources
- Extinguishing a solid with water, powder or foam extinguisher
- Extinguishing a liquid fire with CO2 extinguishers
- Dealing with fire in an electrical distribution board
- Approaching and extinguishing a deep fryer with a fire blanket or damp cloth
NO WORDS, BUT DEEDS!
- A full day of training lasts 7 hours by default, unless otherwise stated
- Theoretical introduction (30%) with many practical exercises (70%)
- Under the guidance of professional instructors and without risk to the participants!
- Also possible as theoretical training on small extinguishing equipment with optional demo
- Every participant receives an official certificate
WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?
In accordance with Article I.2-21, the employer provides the employees with the necessary training regarding the prevention measures referred to in this title. (Codex Book III, Title 3)
The employer ensures that the fire fighting service has sufficient means to perform its tasks fully and efficiently (Codex Book III, Title 3). The employer determines in particular: the specific training required to acquire these competencies, taking into account the requirements set out in annex 1:
- The training regarding fire intervention comprises theoretical and practical elements, including practical exercises in the use of fire protection equipment according to intervention scenarios
- The training regarding the evacuation of those present comprises theoretical elements and practical exercises concerning the evacuation
- Refresher courses regarding this training are organised on a regular basis
