WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THIS AV-011 FIRE WATCH TRAINING?

For the AV-011 fire watch diploma (including: Extinguishing with small extinguishing equipment (AV-012)), you have come to the right place at Normec Praxis!

The IS diplomas are essential in the petrochemical industry and port companies.

The training can take place at your premises or in one of our partner centres in Flanders.

The number of training days depends on your experience and competencies.

If you pass, you receive the official AV-011 diploma!

If your sector or client does not require this specific diploma, then follow our standard fire fighting with simple extinguishing equipment practical or theory.

The aim of this training is to acquire the skills needed to perform the role of fire watch in an environment with an increased risk of fire or explosion!

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• Be at least 18 years old
• Identification possible by means of an identity card, passport or driving licence
• Have a declaration of medical fitness
• The participant has command of the language of the examinations
• The participant has followed a demonstrable adequate specific training "FIRE WATCH" of at least 1 day. The examination may be part of this.
• The participant must have at least the following PPE: safety shoes.

TARGET GROUP

Every employee involved in fire fighting in an environment with an increased risk of fire and/or explosion.

OBJECTIVE

Acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the role of fire watch in an environment with an increased risk of fire and/or explosion.

THEORY ASSESSMENT OBJECTIVES

• Interpreting and complying with work permits
• Hot work permit: the elementary and relevant environmental and safety regulations
• Elementary knowledge of the conditions for the origin, development and spread of a fire
• Types of fire, their causes and extinguishing agents
• Recognising work situations with an increased fire risk
• The preventive measures to be taken before, during and after the works
• Operation and range of use of the different types of extinguishing equipment
• How to act in the event of a fire, a fire alarm, an evacuation alarm
• Personal protective equipment
• Elementary first aid measures for burns

PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT OBJECTIVES

For the practical part, we use our mobile, environmentally friendly training unit for small extinguishing equipment.

• Extinguishing fires of solids, liquids and gases using powder extinguishers, CO2 extinguishers and water
• Use of a fire blanket and wall-mounted hose reel
• Connecting and handling fire hoses
• Checking the conditions of the permit
• Raising the alarm in an efficient manner

• A full day of training lasts 7 hours as standard, unless stated otherwise
• Theoretical introduction (30%) with many practical exercises (70%)
• Theory examination
• Practical examination
• Every successful participant receives the Besacc-VCA diploma AV-011 fire watch (including: Extinguishing with small extinguishing equipment (AV-012))
• The diploma is personal and states the high-risk task for which the participant has passed
• The diploma is valid for 3 years and is registered online at http://besacc.epyc.eu/diploma
