WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THIS IS-001 FORKLIFT TRAINING?

For the IS-001 forklift advanced diploma, you've come to the right place at Normec Praxis!

The IS diplomas are essential in the petrochemical industry and port companies.

Delivery can take place on-site at your location or in one of our partner centres in Flanders.

The number of training days depends on your experience and skills.

If you pass, you receive the official IS-001 diploma!

If your sector or client does not require this specific diploma, then follow our standard forklift training or forklift competency test.

The goal of this training is to work effectively and safely with the forkliftwerken.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• Experience or not? Every forklift operator is welcome in this training!
• Be at least 18 years old
• Identification possible by means of an identity card, passport or driving licence
• Have a certificate of medical fitness
• The participant masters the language of the exams

• Examination regulations available on request for in-company training

TARGET GROUP

Employees who have to work with a forklift on company premises, in installations, workshops, warehouses. Where the tasks have a certain degree of difficulty, such as:

• Stacking at height
• Driving and stacking in a confined space
• Under time pressure
• In the vicinity of important installations
• Intensive loading and unloading
• In places with traffic of people and/or other means of transport

For employees who work in the (petro)chemical industry, this exam must be taken in an accredited centre.

OBJECTIVE

Learning to work with a forklift in an effective and safe way in order to:

• Move around in an industrial or warehouse environment
• Pick up loads, move and set them down safely and effectively
• Driving in and out of racks and block stacking
• Load and unload a truck or container safely and effectively

ACTIONS, NOT WORDS!

• A full day of training lasts 7 hours by default, unless otherwise stated
• One or more days of tailored practical training
• A lot of experience (1 day) / little experience (2 days) / no experience (3 to 5 days)
• Theory exam + practical exam
• Every participant who passes receives the official FORKLIFT certificate
• The certificate is valid for 5 years and is registered in the Normec Praxis certificate portal
• Every participant who passes receives the Besacc-VCA diploma IS-001: working with a forklift, advanced
• The diploma is personal, states the high-risk task for which the participant has passed
• The diploma is valid for 5 years and is registered online at http://besacc.epyc.eu/diploma

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA - THEORY

The candidate can:

• Explain what a forklift is
• Name the tasks for which a forklift can be used
• Recognise related means of transport for horizontal and vertical transport
• Name aids for horizontal and vertical transport and the handling of special loads
• Recognise different types of pallets and storage methods
• Explain important concepts related to the construction of the forklift
• Name the different types of drives with their applications
• Correctly interpret the basic regulations for the use of a forklift
• Correctly interpret the safety rules and traffic rules
• Name the factors that can influence stability
• Interpret a load diagram
• Name the components of the start-up check
• Carry out a Last Minute Risk Analysis (LMRA)

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA - PRACTICAL

• Performing the start-up check (checklist)
• Performing a slalom
• Driving forwards and backwards through a narrow passage
• Loading and unloading a container or truck
• Picking up and moving a high load
• Stacking loaded pallets in racks
• Driving on a slope
• Moving and stacking stackable boxes, type mesh boxes
• Placing a long load forwards through a narrow passage
• Parking the forklift in the designated place
• Explaining verbally the charging of the traction battery / refuelling diesel / replacing the LPG gas cylinder
