WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THIS IS-006 RIGGING TRAINING?
For the IS-006 diploma slinging and directing critical loads, you've come to the right place at Normec Praxis!
The IS diplomas are essential in the petrochemical industry and port companies.
The training can take place at your premises or in one of our partner centres in Flanders.
The number of training days depends on your experience and skills.
If you pass, you receive the official IS-006 diploma!
If your sector or client does not require this specific diploma, then follow our standard training slinging and moving critical loads or slinging and moving non-critical loads.
The goal of this training is efficient and safe lifting of combined or difficult-to-handle loads.
Using chain hoists for complicated structures or situations.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Every slinger of critical loads is welcome in this training!
- The one-day course is a renewal for people who already hold an IS-006 certificate
- The two-day course is a full training in which anyone may take part
- Be at least 18 years old
- Identification possible by means of an identity card, passport or driving licence
- Have a declaration of medical fitness
- The participant masters the language of the exams
- Normec Praxis pursues an active equal opportunities policy. Our exams are open to everyone who meets the requirements, regardless of their sex, skin colour or religion
- Exam regulations available on request for in-company trainings
TARGET GROUP
Employees who, on a company site in installations, workshops or warehouses, have to sling and move critical loads when carrying out lifting operations and/or have to coordinate these operations.
The following are considered critical loads:
- Loads whose centre of gravity is unknown, which are bulky in shape or dimensions and which have no fixed defined attachment points
- Loads which must be positioned very precisely and therefore must be slung exactly correctly
- Loads which are transferred or where there is an interaction between crane and building or between crane and crane
- Loads which must be hoisted with several non-stationary lifting appliances.
For employees working in the (petro)chemical industry, this exam must be taken in an accredited centre.
OBJECTIVE
Learn how to, in an efficient and safe manner:
- Sling and move loads
- Direct loads by communicating with the operator of a lifting appliance
NO WORDS, BUT DEEDS!
- A full day of training lasts 7 hours by default, unless stated otherwise
- One or more days of tailored practical training
- A lot of experience (1 day) / little experience (2 days) / no experience (3 to 5 days)
- Theory exam + practical exam
- Every successful participant receives the official SLINGING CRITICAL LOADS certificate
- The certificate is valid for 5 years and is registered in the Normec Praxis certificate portal
- Every successful participant receives the Besacc-VCA diploma IS-006: slinging and directing critical loads
- The diploma is person-bound and states the high-risk task for which the participant has passed
- The diploma is valid for 5 years and is registered online at http://besacc.epyc.eu/diploma
THEORY ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
The candidate can:
- Indicate which loads are considered critical loads
- List the risks involved in slinging and moving loads
- Indicate the applicable legislation and standards
- List and explain the aspects of inspections according to the regulations and according to VCA
- Determine the basic characteristics of the load
- Calculate the forces that occur in the slinging equipment
- Explain the basic concepts relating to the load
- Explain the basic concepts relating to lifting accessories and calculate the load in the lifting accessories
- Indicate the legally prescribed hand and arm signals
- Explain the use of the various types of slinging equipment and lifting accessories, components and assemblies, their scope of application and their advantages and disadvantages
- Explain the maintenance, inspection and storage of the various types of slinging equipment
- Correctly interpret the data that must appear on the various types of slinging equipment
- Determine how a load can be safely slung, with various slinging equipment and accessories, depending on the nature of the load
- List various points of attention of the risk analysis during lifting operations
PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
- Sling and correctly position a complex structure with a hard-to-determine centre of gravity
- Sling a heavy load that is out of balance
- Correctly sling an electric motor (without using eye bolts), move it and place it on a foundation
- Sling a long load, upright it and correctly lay it down in a different direction
- Guide a load along a course
