For the IS-032 rotating telehandler with lifting function diploma you've come to the right place at Normec Praxis!

The IS diplomas are essential in the petrochemical industry and port companies.

The training can take place at your location or in one of our partner centres in Flanders.

The number of training days depends on your experience and competencies.

If you pass, you receive the official IS-032 diploma!

If your sector or client does not require this specific diploma, then take our standard rotating telehandler training or rotating telehandler competency test.

The aim of this training is to be able, in an efficient and safe manner, with the rotating telehandler, to work.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience or not? Every operator of the rotating telehandler is welcome in this training!
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Identification possible by means of an identity card, passport or driving licence
  • Have a certificate of medical fitness
  • The participant has command of the language of the examinations
  • Normec Praxis pursues an active equal-opportunities policy. Our examinations are open to everyone who meets the conditions, regardless of their gender, skin colour or religion
  • Employees who hold a certificate IS-032: working with a rotating telehandler with lifting function are deemed to also meet the requirements to work with a rotating or fixed telehandler
  • They therefore do not additionally have to hold the diplomas
  • Examination regulations available on request for company-internal training

TARGET GROUP

Employees who have to work with a rotating telehandler and move suspended loads with an adapted lifting accessory on a company site or in installations. Where the tasks have a certain degree of difficulty, such as:

  • Stacking at a distance and at height
  • Driving and stacking in a confined space
  • Under time pressure
  • In the vicinity of important installations
  • Intensive loading and unloading of lorries
  • In places with traffic of persons and/or other means of transport

For employees who work in the (petro)chemical industry, this examination must be taken in an accredited centre.

OBJECTIVE

Learning to work with a rotating telehandler with lifting function in an efficient and safe manner in order to:

  • Move around in an industrial environment
  • Pick up loads at height and/or at a distance
  • Move loads safely and efficiently
  • Set down loads at height and/or at a distance
  • Load and unload a lorry safely and efficiently
  • Sling loads, move them while suspended and set them down correctly

NO WORDS, BUT ACTIONS!

  • A full training day lasts 7 hours by default, unless stated otherwise
  • A lot of experience (1 day) / little experience (2 days) / no experience (3 to 5 days)
  • Theory examination + practical examination
  • Every participant who passes receives the official ROTATING TELEHANDLER certificate
  • The certificate is valid for 5 years and is registered in the Normec Praxis certificate portal
  • Every participant who passes receives the Besacc-VCA diploma IS-032: working with a rotating telehandler with lifting function
  • The diploma is personal and states the high-risk task for which the participant has passed
  • The diploma is valid for 5 years and is registered online at http://besacc.epyc.eu/diploma

THEORY ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

The candidate can:

  • Explain what a telehandler is and know the different applications
  • Name the activities for which a telehandler can be used
  • Recognise related means of transport for horizontal and vertical transport
  • Name aids for horizontal and vertical transport and the handling of special loads
  • Recognise different types of pallets and storage methods
  • Explain important concepts relating to the construction of the telehandler
  • Correctly interpret the basic regulations for the use of a telehandler with lifting function
  • Correctly interpret the safety rules and the traffic rules
  • Know what to pay attention to when slinging loads
  • Name the factors that can affect stability
  • Interpret the regulatory hand and arm signals
  • Interpret a load chart
  • Name the components of the start-up check
  • Carry out a Last Minute Risk Analysis (LMRA)

PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

  • Carrying out the start-up check (checklist)
  • Performing a slalom forwards and backwards, with 4-wheel steering
  • Driving forwards and backwards through a narrow passage with a suspended load
  • Picking up on the forks, moving and setting down a high load
  • Setting down and picking up various loads on the forks at height
  • Slinging a long lying load, min. 4 m, uprighting it and laying it down in another indicated direction
  • Moving a suspended load through a slalom
  • Neutralising the swinging of a load
  • Parking the telehandler in the designated place

WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?

Mobile work equipment with their own drive may only be operated by workers who have received adequate training for the safe operation of this work equipment (Codex book IV, title 3)
Considered a safety function is every workstation where use is made of work equipment, where motor vehicles, cranes, overhead cranes, lifting devices of any kind are operated (Codex book I, title 4)
