For the AV-015 loader crane diploma, Normec Praxis is the right place for you!
The IS diplomas are essential in the petrochemical industry and port companies.
The training can take place at your premises or in one of our partner centres in Flanders.
The number of training days depends on your experience and skills.
If you pass, you receive the official AV-015 diploma!
If your sector or client does not require this specific diploma, follow our standard loader crane training or loader crane certification.
The aim of this training is to operate a loader crane effectively and safely autolaadkraan!
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Experienced or not? Every loader crane operator is welcome in this course!
- Be at least 18 years old
- Identification possible by means of an identity card, passport or driving licence
- Have a certificate of medical fitness
- Have a driving licence to operate the truck on the public road
- The participant has a command of the language of the examinations

TARGET GROUP
Any employee who has to operate a loader crane.
OBJECTIVE
Objective: learning to work with a loader crane safely and efficiently.
- Holding a safety function
- Operating the device efficiently
- Being able to report defects and malfunctions preventively
- Preventing accidents and injuries
- Preventing damage to products and reducing transport damage
- Achieving a balance between safe behaviour and productivity
THEORY ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
- Knowing the content of the safety function
- Knowing what work permits are and being able to interpret and comply with them
- Knowing the safety regulations
- Knowing which personal protective equipment must be worn
- Knowing important concepts regarding the construction of the loader crane
- Knowing that there are various aids
- Knowing the elements that make up the start-up check
- Knowing which factors influence the load and stability of the loader crane and truck
- Knowing slinging material and lifting accessories.
- Knowing how to store these materials correctly on the truck and knowing what a good lift is
- Understanding and being able to use load charts, understanding the operation of the load moment limiter or other overload protections (e.g. fuse)
- Knowing what the common hoisting signals are
- Knowing how to load a truck safely and secure loads against load loss
- Knowing the basic legislation for a loader crane operator
- Being able to identify, analyse and control the risks inherent to devices and space
- Knowing the traffic regulations when driving the loader crane on the public road, knowing how to secure the crane in a safe driving position
PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
- Being able to apply the safety rules
- Being able to correctly carry out the daily inspection of the loader crane, recognising dangerous defects and reporting them
- Being able to engage and disengage the PTO or other drive systems of the crane
- Being able to safely set the outriggers
- Safely getting on and off the operating position and the loading platform
- Being able to use the controls correctly in a controlled manner
- Bringing the loader crane out of transport position without negative load on the locking system or the truck cab
- Safely slinging loads with slinging material, being able to dampen and avoid the swinging motion
- Being able to work with hoisting signals in practice
- Being able to carry out the following manoeuvres:
- Taking a load at ground level, placing pallets side by side at the front and rear of the loading area
- In a controlled and gentle manner with a pallet hook (max. clearance of 20 cm allowed)
- Correctly stacking loads at ground level, taking a long load using slinging material from the ground and placing it in the loading area in a limited space (clearance max. 40 cm)
- Being able to turn a load without abrupt movements
- Being able to estimate distances and depth
- Being able to return the loader crane-truck combination to a safe transport position
- Being able to apply order and cleanliness

- A full day of training lasts 7 hours by default, unless otherwise stated
- One or more days of tailor-made practical training
- A lot of experience (1 day) / little experience (2 days) / no experience (3 to 5 days)
- Theory exam + practical exam
- Every successful participant receives the official LOADER CRANE certificate
- The certificate is valid for 5 years and is registered in the Normec Praxis certificate portal
- Every successful participant receives the Besacc-VCA diploma AV-015: working with a loader crane
- The diploma is personal and states the high-risk task for which the participant has passed
- The diploma is valid for 5 years and is registered online at http://besacc.epyc.eu/diploma

- Mobile work equipment with its own drive system may only be operated by workers who have received adequate training for the safe operation of this work equipment (RD 04/05/1999, art 14.1).
- A safety function is considered to be any workstation where work equipment is used, where motor vehicles, cranes, overhead cranes, lifting devices of any kind are operated (RD 28/05/2003, art 2).
- The purpose of safety and health signage is to draw attention, in a quick and easily understandable way, to objects, activities and situations that may cause certain dangers. (RD 17/06/1997, annexes 1-9)
